A section of Post Medieval copper alloy chain, which may have formed part of an elaborate head dress, dating to the 16th century. The object is formed of four sections of copper alloy wire which have loops at each end to connect to one another. The wire has been curled around itself to form a spiral section, perhaps to strengthen the object. Each end has been broken off, one ending abruptly after the coils and the other continuing as uncoiled wire for ~38 mm. A complete copper alloy head dress frame of uncertain date, although it may be Medieval to Post Medieval in date. It is now bent and no longer circular; it is D shape in section, with the reverse being flat. The ends are bifurcated, with each terminal ending in an open loop. In each pair of loops, one loop ends in a sharp point, one loop ends with a break. There is no decoration, but there is the remnant of gilding visible at one end.
