A complete Post Medieval silver clip probably part of a scabbard or sheath, dating to c AD 1740 - 1800. It is a tapering D section metal bar, with, at the wider upper end is an oval plate which includes, in relief, a laureate, draped Classical imperial bust, facing, The features are very detailed, but rather crudely executed. The field in the background has a pitted decoration. A three-part pressed metal crocodile-style clip with a four-coiled spring held between two rectangular flanged plates which are clipped together at their ends and overlap at a small pair of serrated jaws. Notation: 45/C appears on the underside of the lower jaw and PEEWEE / [--] on its central part. This object would seem apt to secure an electrical connection. Copper alloy clip fragment. A rectangular plate with one long edge bent at right angles to the rest; that edge is serrated with a series of flat triangular teeth. Border lines appear at the ends of either shorter side, while that side opposite the serrated edge has a narrow rectangular loop. Possibly from a pair of braces, in which case this and a counterpart would grip the top band of a pair of trousers; other uses with stationary might also be considered. Copper alloy clip. A plain bordered heart-shaped plate with a rolled end which retains a triple loop of scrolls with pelleted ends, and with paired projecting loops of diameter 2mm at their outer edge. The triple loop moves freely in a single plane, and has a small plain trapezoid chape behind its union with the plate. A plain continuation from the opposite edge of the heart-shaped plate takes the form of a straight-sided strip of width 12.5mm with a U-shaped end, bent sharply behind the heart and retaining tensile strength. If used as suggested, this probably homemade object would have secured the edge of a [necessarily] light cloth in the later course of its finishing.
