The obverse reads TER which could refer to the mint Canterbury or the moneyer Walter who mints at both Canterbury and London in this class.

An extremely worn and corroded, incomplete mid-16th century copper-alloy post-medieval shilling of Edward VI, first period, London mint (1547-1549 AD; North 1896).
Around a third of the coin has been lost at the circumference and into the coin. The remainder is slightly bent and creased, with three perforations.

The reverse has been double struck, which has rendered the reverse illegible so mint and moneyer can not be easily determined. The coin has been misshapen by post depositional damage.
