Silver coin. Fragment of a torn long cross penny, of Edward III (1327-1377), fourth coinage of 1351-1377, possibly issued by Lincoln mint. Obverse description: Bare shouldered bust Obverse inscription: (--)RDVS.REX, the S is egg-waisted and X is prominently seriffed. Reverse description: Long cross, only two pellets are visible in each angle, though this may arise from heavy wear. Reverse inscription: (--)?REX?/?LINC?(--), the former possibly indicating a mis-strike; N is Lombardic. Diameter: 18.0mm, Weight: 0.65gms.
