An unidentified fragment, probably of a silver object; (possibly of copper alloy with a high tin content), of suggested Roman date c. AD 43-410. The fragment is flat with one face decorated in cast relief comprising a curved band of cabling and feathering, possibly depicting hair.  The reverse is undecorated and slightly convex with a silvery surface with irregular pitting. A thin, incomplete, unidentified silver component. The item is semi-circular in plan, and retangular in cross section. It appears to be incomplete, with clean and linear break points on the two ends of the circular frame suggesting it has been cut, perhaps before it was intended to be melted down. On what is presumably the front facing surface of the component, there are two parrallel grooves which run along the circumference of the inside edge. A silver unidentified object, probably post medieval to modern dating from the 18th to 19th century AD. The object is a piece of sheet silver that has been folded in on itself and is now triangular shaped. On the outer surface is a monogram, this possibly includes an H or a J. There is no decoration on the reverse, and there is still traces of mud within the folds. The object is very worn and broken. It is a bright silver grey colour, and measures 23.4mm in length, 18.2mm in width, 4.2mm in thickness and weighs 2.15g.

Description: The object remains as a penannular loop, circular in cross-section, which is stamped with a hallmark depicting a lion passant left, looking straight ahead, in a cut-corner oblong. The ends suggest attachment to an object.  Measurements: diameter: 16.7mm; thickness: 2mm; weight: 1.28g Discussion: The dating of this object is based on the hallmark, being a cut-corner oblong used from 1736 to1739 which is an elongated version of that used in 1720 (Judy Rudoe, pers. comms.).

The object comprises of two plates of silver which are connected via a knop at the top of the piece. The front face is decorated with a naturalistic acorn and leaves, the back face is plain. Viewed in profile it is a truncated sphere with top and bottom removed, alternatively it could be described as rectangular with convexly curved sides. The top and bottom have smooth flat surfaces.
