A complete Medieval cast silver-gilt finger ring, of stirrup style, and dating to c.AD.1150-1500. Description: The object is stirrup shaped, with a sub-circular hoop rising to a triangular bezel. In cross-section the hoop is D-shaped and is uninscribed. The bezel has an integrally cast silver boss, in place and in imitation of a gem setting. The ring is a bright gold in colour, with patches of the gilding having worn away to reveal the silver beneath. The object has two small nicks but is otherwise in good condition and complete.
