A worn and pierced Post-Medieval copper-alloy Nuremberg Jetton, of anonymous 'ship-penny' type (c. 1490-1550). Obverse: sailing ship with rigging and sail, with waves beneath, the bow has a pennant pole on the right, the stern a flag on the left. Reverse: Four fleur-de-lis in a lozenge surounded with rosettes flanked by pellets in each quarter of the field. Fictitious legends. Cf. Mitchiner (1988) number 1169-1170. The jetton has been pierced by a hole at 9 o'clock as seen on the obverse.

A Post Medieval copper alloy Nuremburg jetton, issued by Conrad Lauffer (master AD 1636-1668). This is a Charles II (AD 1660-1685) example, dating to AD 1660-1668. Obverse: laureate and draped bust right with legend; CAROLVS II D G MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX. Reverse: Crowned Stuart shield of arms and legend; CONR.LAUFFERS.RECH.PFENING.COUNTERS.  The jetton has a central hole and there is an incomplete perforation towards the edge.
