An incomplete copper-alloy coffee bean or "vulvate" mount of Roman date, c.AD 150 - 300. The mount comprises an ovate plate, the edges of which are broken and worn, with a raised, central oval boss, decorated with a deep median groove. The reverse of the mount is concave behind the boss. Two incomplete circular-sectioned lugs are present to either end of the reverse of the plate. The metal has a mid-green delaminated patina and is worn.
