Post-Medieval hooked tag of copper alloy with foliate decoration, resembling a Lilly. This is the eye section of the tag. This flat eye has a rectangular attachment end into which the blunt hook would fit, and a sub oval plate which originally had 3 attachment knops. It dates to the late 16th or 17th centuries. The decoraton is engraved and punched. Weight 3.8g. Length 31.0mm, Width 25.6mm, Thickness 1.4mm. Weight 4.0g.

A complete cast lead alloy Medieval spindle whorl. It is biconical in shape, with a circular perforation in the centre. The spindle whorl is quite worn, but on one face there are the faint remains of a raised, chevron pattern from the centre to about 3mm above. The whorl is grey in color and lacks a patina, probably due to it being an alloy. It is 30mm in diameter, and 13mm high. The perforation is 10mm in diameter. It weighs 46.2 g.

A cas,t copper alloy, late medieval buckle frame. The frame is rectangular with a rounded, subrectangular cross section. One of the long sides is narrower than the other three sides. This plain artefact has a dark green patina. There are file marks from when the artefact was finished. There is no sign of a pin rest. Cast copper alloy furniture fitting of post medieval date (1450-1750). The fitting is incomplete being a fragment from a drop handle (or draw pull). Only the lower section survives, the rectangular upper loop is lost and the break is relatively worn and abraded, suggesting damage in antiquity. A possible, incomplete cast lead alloy (pewter?), disc brooch of Weetch type 5 and early medieval date (10th century AD). There is some debate as to whether this is actually part of a brooch or possibly a post medieval lead token; due to significant areas of damage it is impossible to be certain of the identification. Decorated Pewter button with an embossed, symmetrical pattern on its front. The pattern consists of a central circular design surrounded by repeating loops. A complete Late Neolithic flake rewoked as a side scraper. The flake has an irregular, sub-oval, shape. Its cross-section is triangular, with the apex being the prominent dorsal ridge. A complete Late Neolithic waste flake (tertiary debitage). The flake is sub-triangular in shape and has a twisted, flat cross-section. There is no retouch. The ventral face has a percussion scar and a large striking platform. It is wideset at the stiking platform and tapers quickly to a thin body. The flint is a translucent off white, with an internal light grey patch, indicating this is a river flint. It is 27mm long, 18mm wide and 5mm thick at platform. It weighs 1.4g.

A complete later Mesolithic (5000 - 3500 BC) flint core. The core has been worked in several directions and was used to produce small blades. The core fragmnet has been deliberately removed by a transverse blow - possibly suggesting that the extant piece was removed to regenerate the core. The flint is a dark brown black colour and there is a large area of cortex - this suggests the flint is of a good quality and is not native to the area in which it was found. The discarding of such a large piece of flint is unusal and there is no evidence of further working / retouching of the piece…
