A complete, cast, lead, spindle whorl of probable Medieval date. It is biconical in shape, with a circular perforation in the centre. It has a cream patina. The weight is heavily abraded with multiple gouges so it is hard to say whether it was plain or decorated. Diameter 25mm, height 17mm. The diameter of the central hole is 9mm. Weight 37.4 grams.

Silver cut half penny probably of King John struck by the moneyer Iohan (Johan) at an uncertain mint - most probably Canterbury but this part of the coin is cut away. From the look and feel of the lettering and portrait this coin is likely to belong to Short Cross Class 5 - struck between 1204-1207 - this is one of the most common classes and Canterbury is also a prolific mint at this time.

The remains of a copper alloy early Roman bronze coin. The fragment is irregular in plan and profile and seems to have been altered by severe uncontrolled heat, creating a metalic blob similar in patina to many early Roman coins; sesterti, dupondi or asses. Due to the distortion a direct parallel has not been found.

A complete cut quarter penny / farthing of Henry III (1216-1272). This is an Irish coin from Dublin mint dating 1251 - 1254. We have the obverse from about 8 O'Clock to 11 O'Clock, with the bottom left corner of the Irish single bordered triangle, with the kings hand in the corner holding the sceptre and the letters EX in the legend, and two ringlets of the kings hair with pellets inside. An incomplete, cast copper alloy pot leg of Medieval to Post Medieval date. The artefact consist of the foot and part of the leg. The foot is broadly D shaped in cross section with a rounded back back and flat face. Ther eis a prominent central ridge running down the centre of the front face. The foot extends beyond the face as a thin rectangular pad. The leg is a dark green in colour with some sooty deposits. The width is 33mm, the truncated height is 32mm, it is 20mm thick, and weighs 83g.

A near complete, cast copper alloy buckle frame dating c1575-c1700. The frame is an asymetrical double loop, with a trapezoidal rear loop and a rounded front loop. The frame is decorated with prominent knops at either end of the strap bar. The frame has a flat rear, and a rounded face and sides that taper in slightly from the rear to the front. The strap bar is half round. The strap is dark brown in colour with no sign of any surface coating. A cast lead alloy suspended weight of uncertain date. The crude weight has a flat base and a broadly round cross section which gradually tapers up to the narrow top where an iron loop suspension passed through its body. The stumps of the loop are present at either end. The weight is plain with an off white lead-oxide pationa. There are some rust stains at the top near the stumps of the iron loop. Height 36mm. Diameter 23mm - 26mm. Weight 103g.

The coin is heavily abraded from ploughing with almost all of both surfaces removed, with just a bit of dark green patina remaining of the original surface. A sherd of Roman Severn Valley ware from the rim of a drinking vessel. The rim is rounded on the inside towards a slight triangular lip on the outside. This sherd is decorated with four shallow circumreferential ribs. The sherd has a shallow pale orange surface with a grey core. The vessel wall is 4.2mm thick. A rim sherd from a large Roman storage vessel. The coarse fabric is mid orange on the surface, with many inclusions, and a grey core. The rim is oval in cross section, with a shallow rib at its base on the outer surface. The sherd is 22.0g thick at the base of the rim, incluidng the rib. The sherd is 52.8mm wide by 34.2mm high and weighs 35.8g.

A fragment of pottery from the rim of a Roman vessel. This sherd is Severn Valley Ware, being light orange on the surface with a grey core. The vessel flares outwards at the rim like a dish or bowl. The rim is rounded and slightly wider than the wall, it is also at a slight angle to the vessel side, probably being upright in the orignal vessel, with the wall being at a steep inwards angle. The vessel wall is 5.3mm thick. The sherd is 22.2mm wide and 22.7mm tall, and weighs 3.83g.

A fragment of pottery from the rim of a Roman bowl. The fabric is Oxfordshire Black Burnished Ware, being dark grey in colour and burnished on both sides. The vessel had upright sides with only a slight outwards taper, and a rounded lip that is at a right angles to the outer edge, The fragment represents less 5% of the rim, with the diameter being between 12cm to 20cm. A fragment of pottery from the neck of a Medieval jug. The fragment comes from where the body meets the neck, possibly at the base of the spout. Wall thickness is difficult to judge from this thicker curved area of the jug, but the body wall is 10.2mm at the edge furthest from the neck and the spout wall is 10.1mm at its furthest point. This is Green Glazed Worcester Ware from the period 1250-1350. The sherd is a hard courseware, orange in colour with a grey core. Patches of olive green glaze remain on the outer face. The fragment is 65mm long by 42mm wide. The fragment weighs 46.2g.
