An incomplete, heavily abraded Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type dating from AD 90-130. The brooch has been heavily abraded during its time in the soil. It is undecorated. The bow is hump-shaped, and less than half of it remains. The foot and catch plate have been lost. One of the two wings has been broken off, the other remains which is semi-cylindrical in shape. An incomplete post-medieval cast copper-alloy strap-fitting. The artefact consists of a blunt hook, bent slightly to one side, which holds a separate pendent ring. Above the hook the mount is sub oval with two lugs above that bifurcate forming a V shape. Beyond this is mount is broken, so that it is now incomplete. A copper-alloy buckle of medieval or post-medieval date, incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. The frame is a plain, formed of two conjoined oval loops. There is a small notch acting as a pin rest central on the front of one of the loops. In cross-section the frame is a rounded rectangle. The buckle has a mid-green patina with small specs of light green corrosion product. The frame is 39.4mm long, 27.0mm wide and 2.9mm thick. It weighs 6.41g. Similar buckle frames are illustrated by Whitehead (2003, 52-53; nos. 291-299) which are given a wide date range, c. 1350-1650.

The bow is broad and thin, at its base a central rib runs towards the spring housing and may once of extended beyond the bow for the spring to attach to. Under the bow is rectangular groove for the spring, with a further square grove under the remaining arm. The brooch is dark green with extensive area of light green corrosion. Incomplete fragment from a cast copper alloy cosmetic mortar (also known as cosmetic or woad grinder) of late Iron Age to early Roman date circa 300 BC - 200 AD. The cosmetic mortar is incomplete - all that remains is the looped terminal and a small part of the grinding surface. The loop is cast integral to the body of the mortar and forms one of the terminals. Unusually for the type the loop has a uniform width and thickness; there is no form of junction where the loop returns and meets with the body of the grinder and no decorative motifs. Bronze Age copper alloy spearhead fragment of side-looped type, dating to the Taunton-Penard metalworking phases (c.1400-1100 BC) of the Middle Bronze Age. The spearhead is broken at both ends and would have been short with a flame- or leaf-shaped blade. The circular socket becomes lozenge-shaped as it defines the central rib of the blade. The remnants of both loops are present at the base of the fragment and appear slight with a circular section.
