A slightly clipped post-medieval silver penny of Elizabeth I (1558-1603). First coinage (North 1988). Initial mark: cross crosslet, dating to 1560-1561. Mint of London (Tower). North (1975, 110). The penny is slightly clipped on one side. It measures 14.7mm in diameter, is 0.6mm thick and weighs 0.5g

A complete silver penny of Elizabeth I dating from 1587 - 1589. Mint mark is a cresent. The coin is unclipped and worn. There is a crack around the inner band of the legend. The obverse portait is weakly struck and/or worn, with just the silouette of the queen and her crown remaining. The obverse legend is complete and clear E. D. G. ROSA SINE SPINA The reverse shield is worn in places. The reverse legend is complete and clear CIVITAS LONDON Weight 0.4g, diameter 14.5mm.
