A complete silver "hammered" penny of Henry III (1216-1272). This 'voided' long cross penny is class 3a2 dating it to 1248-1249. It was minted in Gloucester by the moneyer Lucas. Diameter 18.0mm. Thickness 0.9mm. Weight 1.50g. North: 987 The finder has images of the coin to Robert Page (of http://www.henry3.com) who notes The other coin is a class 3a2 - as indicated by the characteristic initial mark - sharp points, and lowest pointing vertically down.
