A complete silver medieval long-cross penny. The penny is heavily worn and bent by farm machinery. The intial mark is a cross pattee. Only the start of the obverse legend is clear, being EDWAR. The mint is Canturbury. The C and E are closed, with round backs, suggesting class 6 to 11a, Edward I or II. The crown is too worn to distinguish its type, as is the face and neck. Incomplete silver penny of Henry III, class 7b. Most of the left hand side has been ripped off, probably by a modern plough. The surviving part of the coin has the rear inscription SMVNDE ON which can only match Osmund of Canterbury.
