A fragment of cast lead alloy, most probably from a cloth seal / bag seal of later medieval or post medieval date (1300-1600 AD). The fragment is irregular in both plan and section. In plan it is broadly sub-triangular with a large knop projecting from its lower apex. The upper section is lost through a break. The front face is decorated with a cast design comprising a stylised double border, filled with hachure. Fragment of a cast uniface lead alloy token dated to the later post medieval period (c.1600-1800). The token has a cast design of four narrow, raised, concentric rings on its upper face. The first ring is tight around the centre, the second a quarter of the way out, the third half way out and the fourth on the rim. The reverse is plain and undecorated When complete the diameter would of been about 32mm. The thickness at the rim is 2.6mm, the weight 5.4g

Cast lead alloy weight with integrally cast loop of probable medieval or post medieval date (1250 - 1700). The weight is broadly sub-rectangular in both plan and cross section. The loop is complete and the whole is somewhat elliptical probably through wear (diameter 3.7mm). Along one edge of the weight a clear seam is present; when the base is viewed it is clear that this weight has been formed by rolling thick sheet and then piercing the top. Incomplete fragment of a cast lead or lead alloy weight or possibly steelyard weight of either Roman date (possibly) or late Medieval - Post Medieval date (1350 - 1700). The weight is sub-circular in plan and D shaped (domed) in cross section. The weight is broadly conical with the remains of an iron stud projecting from the base. It is possible that the weight was suspended by this iron stud which is incomplete. The exterior surface is uneven and abraded; there is no evidence of cast or applied decoration. The buckle frame is incomplete, it is irregular in plan and D shaped in cross section. An integral cast pin rest is present on one face of the frame and this is flanked with detailed floral patterns. The style of this decoration suggests a post restoration date. The reverse face of the frame is plain, apart from deep incised file marks on all surface. Cast copper alloy ‘miniature’ weight or spindle whorl of unknown date. The artefact is broadly circular in plan and bi-convex in cross section. An off centre hole has been cast through the artefact; the hole has a diameter of 3.3mm. The upper and lower faces have been decorated with cast (or possible drilled) hollows or cups. These are arranged evenly around the central hole on the upper and lower surfaces, it is also possible that a further ring of these decorations runs around the rim of the weight / whorl, although these have been made indistinct through abrasion and corrosion. …

A cast lead alloy (possibly pewter) fragment from a whistle of post medieval or early modern date (1650 – 1900 although probably 19th century). The fragment consists of the lower part of the cylindrical body of the whistle and the perforated knop shaped terminal. Although crushed in cross section the whistle would have originally been oval. The outer surface is decorated with a series of cast circumferential bands which enclose the lower and end parts of the whistle.
