A cast copper alloy fragment most probably from a medieval 'roller' buckle (1350-1500). The fragment is relatively small comprising a pointed oval hoop from which extends two horizontal bars - one either side . The mid point of one side of the oval has a deliberate worn pin rest / notch. The buckle is a mid grey green colour with an applied black coloured surface - possibly decayed tinning. The reverse face is flat whist in cross section all elements are distinctly triangular. A direct parallel has not been found. The buckle fragment measures 20.9mm length, 14.8mm width, is 2.7mm…

A cast copper-alloy end cap (terminal / pommel) from a scale-tang knife of later medieval or post-medieval date (AD 1400-1600) The terminal is incomplete and one side has been damaged - originally the cap would have been fleur-de-lis shaped with a central domed element which was flanked by two out-turned crescents - only one of which survives. A cast copper alloy fragment - most probably from a steelyard of Roman date (AD 50-350). The fragment is rectangular in plan and profile and triangular in cross section. The upper surface has a series of incised transverse grooves / notches which are evenly spaced suggesting that they are deliberately graded. The surface of the fargment is poorly preserved with a dark green coloured polished patina being present - which has been heavily eroded and the metal has corroded to a mid- purpleish brown colour. A Post Medieval copper alloy dress fastener dating to the 17th century. The object consists of a flat piece of copper alloy with the remains of a curved rectangular hook at the upper edge. The remains of the hook are now missing that would have once attached to another fastener through a rectangular shaped piercing. A fragment from the frame of a Medieval, cast, copper alloy buckle. The heavily corroded fragment comes from the curved, outer end of a single looped, D shaped buckle. The fragment includes a rounded, triangular central extension on which the pin would of rested without a notch The arms of the frame are twisted and abraded, and both end before the strap bar. A machine pressed enamelled button of probable modern (1850-1930) date. The button is machine pressed with a pierced debased triskelle like design comprising three crescent shaped arms terminating in trefoil / clover shaped bosses - these bosses are decorated with red and green enamel. The button is a mid brown colour with a corroded surface patina. The remains of an iron hoop are present on the reverse. The button measures 22.3mm diameter is 6.8mm thick and weighs 1.64 grams

Cast copper alloy two part buckle of post medieval date 1690-1760. The buckle frame is sub-rectangular with angled corners in plan and sub-rectangular in cross section. The frame is bowed in profile. An incomplete, cast copper alloy, Roman brooch. This is a Dolphin type brooch with hinge mechansim.The fragment consists of the bow and the head. The brooch is hevaily corroded but there are faint remains of decorative ribs around the head, either side of the bow. The head is cylindrical with a central recess where the pin was attached to the axle bar, which is still present in the central peircing. The brooch has a mid green patina.
