An incomplete post-medieval cast copper-alloy strap-fitting. The artefact consists of a blunt hook, bent slightly to one side, which holds a separate pendent ring. Above the hook the mount is sub oval with two lugs above that bifurcate forming a V shape. Beyond this is mount is broken, so that it is now incomplete. The mount was attached by a single iron rivet in the centre of the oval element, just below the bifurcation, the corroded remains of which are still present in the fitting. An incomplete strap fitting of Medieval date. The fitting is of the bar strap type, being sub oval in plan, consisting of a domed oval body with hollowed back. At each end of the oval is a rounded solid lobe, one being larger than the other. There is the stump of a projecting circular pin behind each lobe, with the pin fitting through a piercing in the lobe. The fitting is decorated with four unequal horizontal bands that run across the full width of the dome about its centre. The fitting has a dark green patina with lighter corrsion. A complete cast, copper alloy object, of unknown date, probably a buckle / strap / belt fitting. The artefact is broadly triangular in plan and profile.The lower edge extends to form a broken and distorted D shaped ring / hoop. The upper part of the fitting gas a broad but thin longitudinal slot that extends about half the length of the object.It was possibly usd as a sliding belt fitting, with the belt passing through the slot, and the end piercing being used to suspend something. Probably an incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting of Medieval or Post Medieval date. The fitting is sub rectangular in plan, tapering slightly at one end. The fitting is decorated with four straight groves along its length, two near the edges, and two about a third of the way in. On its rear, along its central axis, are two dark circles, representing the position of lost lugs. The fitting has a dark green patina with extensive light green corrosion. It is 16.8mm long by 9.6mm wide. It is 2.2mm thisk. It weighs 1.48g.

A complete Post Medieval copper alloy hooked strap fitting possibly from a sword belt. This fitting has a flat body that is triangular (kite shaped) in plan, with a lobe at the top. The tapered hook is oval in cross section and is bent in the same plain as the body (turned to the observers left, in the same plane as the body). There are the stumps of two square section iron rivots, one above the other along the central axis of the body. These would have held the fitting to the leather belt. A complete Post Medieval cast copper alloy mount. This asymetrical mount is suboval in outline, with two large cojoined central piercings, one above the other. The sides are lobed, with decorative raised oblique lines. On the rear are two integral lugs. The mount is red brown in colour. It is 25.7mm by 24.5mm, and the face is 2.2mm thick. It weighs 3.3g. A complete Post Medieval cast copper alloy mount. This flat mount is subrectangular in outline, with a rounded knop in the middle of each side. On the rear are two integral lugs. The mount is mostly brown in colour, with some green corrosion, also there are patches of red residue indicating it was probably tinned. It is 20.9mm by 22.8mm, and the face is 1.6mm thick. A post medieval, cast, copper alloy mount, belt mount or strap fitting. It is domed with a central raised circular stud and decorated with a concentric circle at the rim. It has been tinned. The reverse has two integral spikes that have been bent over to grip the leather to which it was attached. On the rear are two integrally cast studs for attachmen , set on opposite edges of the mount. The stud has a mid green patina, with faint remains of tinning. It is 17.0mm in diameter and weighs 3.5g. A complete, cast copper-alloy, post medieval, mount (1550-1700). One end of the asymmetrical mount is heart shaped. The other, smaller end is in the form of two hollows with a central protruding leaf. One of the hollows has a piercing and the other looks like a piercing has not quite gone through. On the convex back there are two integral pointed lugs for attachment to leather. The patina is green accept where abrasion as occured revealing the red brown core. There is the faint suggestion of straight lines fanning out over the heart which may be the remnants of a decorative pattern.…

A complete, copper alloy, post medieval (1550-1700), belt mount or strap fitting. The mount is flat in profile and roughly symetrical about its length. The outline shape consists of a tear drop body with smaller tri-lobed shapes at each end. On the rear there is a prong at each end for fixing the mount to a leather belt. The front face has patches of tinning, otherwise the mount has a mid green patina over a red brown core. 27.3mm long, 14.5mm wide and 1.5mm thick. Wieght 2.0g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy hooked button of probably post medieval or early modern date 1600-1800. The artefact comprises a cast domed fitting with a soldered length of copper alloy sheet on one edge which is folded back upon itself to form a crude hook. On the reverse face - within the concave dish, is an irregular cast loop similar to that seen on buttons of the 18th century. It is possible that this artefact was originally designed as a sword belt hook or accessory; however the loop is slight and probably could not take a significant weight.
