An incomplete, probable Early Post Medieval copper alloy (possibly iron) chape possibly for a sword or dagger dating to circa AD 1500-1700. The object has a triangular form with tapered sides that terminate with a large knop. The object has an oval shaped cross section. The aperture is oval in section and filled with concretion and possibly some wood and leather remains of the scabbard. The object has a mid-brown coloured patina with a pitted surface. A Post Medieval copper alloy dress fastener dating to the 17th century. The object consists of a flat piece of copper alloy with the remains of a curved rectangular hook at the upper edge. The remains of the hook are now missing that would have once attached to another fastener through a rectangular shaped piercing. The body of the fastener is broadly triangular in plan with a circular piercing at either long edge below the upper broken hook.
