The upper bow tapers from a flared head and is circular in plan. A cast copper alloy fragment from an unidentified object. The deep green patina suggests an iron age to medieval date, with similar object, LIN-8F06B0, being dated as Roman.

In cross section the loop is an irregular oval shape (tear drop), with a round exterior and two bevelled inner faces. On one side there are file marks across the collar of the loop.
The fragment is 22.3mm in length an…

The remains of a copper alloy early Roman bronze coin. The fragment is irregular in plan and profile and seems to have been altered by severe uncontrolled heat, creating a metalic blob similar in patina to many early Roman coins; sesterti, dupondi or asses. Due to the distortion a direct parallel has not been found.
