Post Medieval (mid 17th to mid 19th century) pistol or buck shot: A lead or lead alloy sub-spherical ball which has multiple, slightly impacted faces. The ball is sub-sphereical. It has a mid grey patina. It measures 8.7mm diameter, and weighs 3.88g. Ball shot was the prime form of small arms projectile used from the very late Medieval Period to middle of the 19th century.
