A complete silver penny of Charles I (1625-1649). The penny has been heavily clipped. On the obverse is the King's bust, on the reverse a shield, both without inner circles. The coin is most probably from Group D (1632-1640) with the initial mark being two pellets. Note error in reverse inscription reading TRHONVM rather than THRONVM Diameter 13.5mm, thickness 0.7mm, weight 0.50g. North 2268

A complete silver "hammered" penny of Henry III (1216-1272). This 'voided' long cross penny is class 3a2 dating it to 1248-1249. It was minted in Gloucester by the moneyer Lucas. Diameter 18.0mm. Thickness 0.9mm. Weight 1.50g. North: 987 The finder has images of the coin to Robert Page (of http://www.henry3.com) who notes The other coin is a class 3a2 - as indicated by the characteristic initial mark - sharp points, and lowest pointing vertically down. An incomplete post-medieval silver penny of James I (1603-1625). Third coinage (North 2128). Initial mark: two pellets, dating to 1619-1625. Mint of London (Tower). North (1975, 124). Just over half the coin remains after being ripped by farm machinery. The penny is 14.2mm in diameter, 0.5mm thick and weighs 0.37g. The coin has been pierced, possibly for suspension, through the reverse, with burring on the obverse, which suggest a punch was used rather than the coin was drilled. The hole is at around 9 o'clock on the obverse, corresponding to around 5 o'clock on the reverse.

A complete silver medieval long-cross penny. The penny is heavily worn and bent by farm machinery. The intial mark is a cross pattee. Only the start of the obverse legend is clear, being EDWAR. The mint is Canturbury. The C and E are closed, with round backs, suggesting class 6 to 11a, Edward I or II. The crown is too worn to distinguish its type, as is the face and neck. Diameter 17.7mm,Weight 1.0g.

A complete penny of Edward III - most probably from the 3rd 'florin' coinage - 1344-51. The penny is well worn and crumpled. The coin is double struck. The first strike was off flan as I can make out the inner edge of the first legend outside of the second legend. The only descernable part of the legend is DVS followed by a single saltire stop. Only one lock of hair is descernable in the portrait. On the reverse I can make out RACI C in the legend, and a quatre foil at the centre of the cross. Making this an Archiepiscopal issue from York. Diameter 18.4mm, weight 0.9g

A complete silver penny of Elizabeth I dating from 1587 - 1589. Mint mark is a cresent. The coin is unclipped and worn. There is a crack around the inner band of the legend. The obverse portait is weakly struck and/or worn, with just the silouette of the queen and her crown remaining. The obverse legend is complete and clear E. D. G. ROSA SINE SPINA The reverse shield is worn in places. The reverse legend is complete and clear CIVITAS LONDON Weight 0.4g, diameter 14.5mm.
