A burin of later Mesolithic date formed on a snapped mid grey mottled flint blade. The bulb of percussion and striking platform have been removed by snapping although the ventral face has clear evidence of chonciodal fracturing. The proximal snapped edge has been reworked with steep sided retouch creating a projecting point. This point has been made more angular by a deliberate vertical removal that has removed a small rectangular flake giving the point a specific identifiable profile. Base of a later Mesolithic bladelet. The bladelet is formed on a mottled grey coloured flint with a small area of cortext on the dorsal face. the striking platform and bulb of percusion is present on the reverse face. The dorsal face has small areas of abrupt retouch on one edge. The deliberate break is old and patinated. The left hand corner of the break seems to have been knapped to form a burin / micro burin - with a distinct vertical removal and retouch on the opposite edge creating a projecting point.
