An incomplete copper-alloy swivelling fob seal with a rotating double sided seal matrix of Post-Medieval date, c. 1700-1800AD. Only part of the decorative frame survives.  This is flat and would have extended into an openwork handle. Traces of the scrollwork decoration can still be seen.  The arch of the frame extends around an oval seal matrix.  A rod passes through the centre of the seal matrix to swivel so that both faces could be used. The circular die from which rises a hexagonal pedestal formed from six tapering sides, at the base of each are three engraved pellets.  The pedestal terminates in a trefoil suspension loop.  The die face depicts the standing figure of the Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus.  The inscriptions reads AVE MARIA GRACIA PL (Hail Mary, full of grace) and most likely represents a private personal seal.
