Incomplete and worn Rose and Orb Nuremberg Jetton dating c. 1543-1635AD.  The obverse is very worn but appears to have the rose motif at the centre surrounded by alternating crowns and lis. An incomplete copper alloy post medieval jetton of uncertain issue, dating c.1550-1750AD. This is a Rose/Orb type from the Nuremburg mint. The obverse has alternating crowns and lis arranged around a central 5-petalled rose. Most of the legend is missing, damaged or illegible but appears to be in a Gothic script. The reverse has the Imperial Orb within a treasure of three arches. There are three pairs of annulets around the tressure. The initial mark may be a crown. The legend is likely to be fictitious. The obverse has a central rosette surrounded by three fleur de lis alternating with three crowns and the legend [GOTT]ES SEG[EN MACHT REICH]. The reverse has the orb (Reichsapfel) with cross patty, within a tressure with three main arches, with the legend [*HANN]S KRAVWINCKEL IN NV. See Mitchiner (1988) pg 436 No. 1504c.
