An incomplete copper alloy hinged Colchester derivative (Dolphin) brooch of Roman date (55-100AD). The wings are cylindrical and complete and are decorated with two parallel grooves either side of the bow. There is the remains of an iron axis bar. At the centre of the wings, on the reverse face, is a vertical slit which would have held the pin, which is now missing The bow is D-shaped in cross section with not surviving traces of any decoration. Unidentified object of probably post medieval date (c. 1600-1800AD) possibly an iron nail with its head covered in lead. The shaft is corroded and has been bent over to form a loop. The lead head is semi-spherical with a flat top. The lead covering may have helped to slow down corrosion in exposed positions. Head length: 16.3mm; head width: 13.5mm; height: 17.8mm; weight: 10.05g There are a number of similar examples recorded on the PAS database, including LIN-A9E255, SUSS-D9ED76, NLM-6B0777, NLM-9784DB and NLM-77889A.

Incomplete iron firing mechanism, complete with flint, most likely from a flintlock pistol of post medieval date (AD1600-1800). The fragment comprises the cock and the jaws for the flint. The flint is intact and is a dark grey colour measuring 27.8 x 24.7mm, with a maximum thickness of 6.8mm, it is held in position between the upper and lower jaw. The adjustable locking screw is heavily corroded. Fragment of an iron scale tang knife with a bone handle dating to the Post-medieval period (c. 1500-1700AD). The bone handle is D shaped in section and is held in place with an iron rivet. The handle is decorated with a cross-hatch pattern along the long edge of the handle, with a series of short parallel, diagonal lines, down the centre. A tang fitted between the two halves of the handle, with a stop between the tang and the blade itself which is broken. See LON-F004E6 and DUR-2FA083 on the database for parallels.
