A copper alloy unidentified object of possible Post Medieval date (c. AD 1500-1800). The object comprises a suspension loop with bevelled inner edges, attached to two domed circular components via a cylindrical shank running from the loop through both components. The first component is a slightly conical (inverted), circular disc. Below this disc is a domed base, separated from the upper disc revealing part of the shank extending from the suspension loop. The base is flat at its lower edge and provides the appearance of a seal matrix, though there is no evidence of a matrix apparent. A…

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A fragment of tile of unknown, possibly Roman, date (c. AD 43-1900). The fragment is roughly rectangular in shape, flat on one face and has the remains of moulded floral decoration on the opposing face. There are a number of scratches and gouges across all sides. The haphazard nature of the moulded decoration could suggest that this piece of tile was a practice piece. No comparable examples with similar designs have been found so far on the PAS database. This object was recovered from an area that has produced a quantity of Roman artefacts therefore a tentative Roman date could be ar…

A small section of the lip at 11 o'clock has broken away. The reverse of the mount is concave. No evidence of attachment points is apparent.
