A struck/ hammered silver Edward III penny, dating between 1351-1361 AD, minted as part of his fourth coinage. The coin is broken in two and was originally bent when just in one piece, probably as a result of being deposited in the ground (diameter of two parts together: 18.9mm; thickness: 0.8mm; weight of two parts together: 1.14g). The coin was minted pre-treaty in York, identified from the quatrefoil in the centre of the cross on the reverse. There is one annulet stop visible on the obverse. The coin is in a worn but fair condition with more detail lost from the obverse.
