A complete lead alloy token dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500-1800). The token is sub-square in plan and uniface depicting a cross in relief, the reverse is blank. The cross motif corresponds to Powell's type 14. The token has an even reddish grey patina. The overall dimensions are as follows: 22.46mm in legnth, 19.74mm in width, 3.59mm in thickness and 10.56g in weight.

A complete lead alloy token dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500-1800). The token is uniface depicting a cross in relief, the reverse is blank. The cross motif corresponds to Powell's type 14. The reverse is uneven and has a small crack at the centre. Evidence of the mould used to form the token is apparent around the edge of both faces. The token has an even grey patina. The overall dimensions are as follows: 23.33mm in diameter, 3.7mm in thickness and 8.45g in weight.

The token is uniface depicting an anchor in relief within a raised border around the perimeter of the token on the obverse, while the reverse is blank. The anchor motif corresponds to Powell's type 5. The reverse has a linear gouge resulting in a slight outward bulge on the obverse. The upper edge is also chipped. The token has an uneven greyish white patina. The overall dimensions are as follows: 22mm in diameter, 4.17mm in thickness and 7.5g in weight.

The reverse is flat and undecorated. Such tokens have been suggested as imitations of Medieval hammered long cross pennies. See PAS records ASHM-EE2406 and SUR-5AF106 for comparable examples. A Post Medieval lead alloy token of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603), issued circa AD 1574. North (1991) Vol 2. No. 2062/2063. The obverse depicts a Double headed eagle and the reversea Crowned rose, the inscription is unclear. It may read BEATI REGINA or GOD SAVE THE QUENE. Other tokens of this type have been reorded on the PAS database, LON-87200F discovered in London and IOW-3AAA72 on the ISLe of Wight and SUR-8EBEA7 from Surrey. North (1991) suggested that they were normally found in London however the PAS database has a number recorded from across the country.
