A fragment of a lead alloy ampulla of the Medieval period dating from c. AD 1200 - c. AD 1400. The object consists of only the bottom of the rounded lead flask. The neck is missing. The faces of the object would have been flat or slightly convex, but have been pressed in, or flattened. One face has a faint raised line decoration, but exact details are hard to determine. An incomplete sub square lead alloy artefact of uncertain function and form, but probably of Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1800). The artefact is sub square in shape, with the remains of an iron shank extending from one corner. The front exhibits decoration. Five rounded pellets in the centre, in a cross design, within an arched tressure, all within a lozenge shaped cartouche. The reverse has a raised cross design. The corners are rounded. An incomplete lead alloy possible model for a trumpet style brooch, dating from 75 to 175 AD. Around 25% of the possible model is present, consisting of the head. The object has a light to dark brown coloured patina. Due to wear it is uncertain if the object is decorated or features a design on either face. The surfaces are worn and abraded.  The object measures 36.6 mm in length, 23 mm in width, 4.4 mm in thickness and weighs 11.2 grams.
