A silver post-medieval penny of Charles I, probably dating from 1630-1. The coin is North number 2263. It suffers from some wear and damage, but most of the legend can be determined. It has been pierced, possibly for suspension. As there is no evidence to suggest that the coin was removed from circulation as coinage, it has not been put forward as a candidate for Treasure under the Treasure Act.
