A core rejuvenation flake struck from poor quality flint of Late Mesolithic to Early Neolithic date (6500 to 2900 BC). It is subrectangular in plan. The ventral (upper) face demonstrates a series of ridges, with a hinge fracture present. The dorsal (lower) face demonstrates a bulb of percussion and striking platform. It has been taken from a core, for the production of blades, as demonstrated from a series of parallel flint scars at the proximal end of the flake. There is evidence of uncontrolled flaking scars along the edge of the flake, which are probably the result of post depositi…

A broken flint blade, probably dating to the later Mesolithic or early Neolithic periods (6500 - 2900 BC). The blade is almost triangular in plan, with a series of ridges on the dorsal (upper) face. The ventral (lower) face shows evidence of the bulb of percussion and part of a striking platform. The blade has been deliberately broken. There is evidence of retouch along the dorsal (upper) left edge, with four small parallel flake scars. There are some irregular, uncontrolled flake scars present, suggesting later post depositional damage such as plough roll or movement in the soil. The…
