Object type: DEBITAGE
Broad period: MESOLITHIC
County: Devon
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete struck / knapped secondary debitage flake, of probable Late Mesolithic dating (c. 7,000 BC to c. 4,000 BC).
The debitage flake has a trapezoidal cross section, and is sub square in shape. The length/width ration indicates that it is consistent with a bladelet. Minimal retouch is present along one of the long edges (short, subparallel, low angle). The remains of a bulb of percussion is present at one end. The blade has been made from a light brown flint, with little surface patination.
