There is a break at the top. The object tapers from 4.45mm wide and 4.09mm thick near the break, to 2.84mm wide and 3.09mm thick near the bottom of the shaft, before expanding to a maximum 4.08mm wide and 5.48mm thick on the lozengiform foot or knop. The gap between the terminals is 68.32mm and each terminal consists of a figure-of-eight double off-set loop that joins the arm at a moulded collar. The moulded collar is more pronounced on the right arm than the left arm. An extremely worn, incomplete, copper alloy finger ring of probable Roman date (c. AD 43-410). Most of the hoop is missing, and the object only consists of the bezel and a small section of the hoop. The bezel is lozenge shaped in plan and is decorated with the worn remains of a moulded ring and dot pattern inside of a central round recess with a raised, circumferential border on the outside. There are objects that have been recorded on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database that are potentially comparable, such as SF-344BD5.
