A copper alloy Roman brooch, probably a form of Aucissa brooch dating from AD 43 - 75. It bow is cast in one and is mainly a flat sheet. The head rolls forward to hold a copper alloy axis bar with a slot for the missing pin. The upper bow tapers slightly away from the head, and has faint vertical lines in the centre, but is basically a flat sheet. The lower bow is defined by five faint transverse grooves. An incomplete Roman (AD 100-300) copper alloy finger-ring of Daubney's Group 7 (Miscellaneous) decoration. part of the hoop is missing. In shape the bezel is oval. It is decorated with an oval field, at the centre of which is a smaller oval (of copper alloy) with two (copper alloy) transverse lines running across it. This divides the central oval into the three lateral fields. No enamel survives. A copper alloy button and loop fastener of Wild class III dating from the early Roman period, about AD 43 - 175. The fastener comprises of two main parts; The loop fastener part is an elongated triangle and the narrow end of the triangle turns into a rod and bends 90 degrees towards the integral button element. The button or head is tear or petal-shaped and comprises a central boss surrounded by a raised outer edge which is drawn out into a point at one end. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. Only the middle of the bow survives. It has a very worn acanthus moulding, of three petals above and three below a central disc. The moulding continues round the back of the bow. There is a worn collar above and below. The lower bow is flat in cross-section and has a central ridge on the reverse whhich is the top of the catchplate. The breaks are worn and patinated. The fragment has a green and brown patina. It is 29.56mm long, 10.26mm wide and 7.88mm thick. It weighs 5.05g.

A copper-alloy Roman brooch of Mackreth Type British Plate 3.b.1 dating from AD 80 - 250. The brooch is oval in plan and has a central zone with a raised edge. The zone is now empty and would have contained enamel or a glass inset. The outer zone is gilded and was probably stamped. The back is plain and retains a single lug for the missing, probably sprung, pin. A lug opposite is al that remains of the catchplate. Measurements; Length 25.8mm, width 21.0mm, thickness 6.2mm, and weight 4.2g. See Mackreth number 10842 on page 161 and plate 107.
