A complete late Medieval copper-alloy 'lyre-shaped' openwork strap end. The long open frame terminates with a lozenge shape decorated with radiating lines. Spanning the frame is a bird with wings outstretched. To the sides of the narrow part of the frame are a pair of swags, each with blind-drilled holes. The box into which the strap was inserted bears the initial I (for Jesus) against a field infilled with zig zags. The two attachment rivets are of iron.
