Large Achuleian handaxe. It is a heavy butted, sub-cordate shape with a slight reversed S twist in profile. It is made from greensand chert. It has a heavy, creamy patina and some slight iron staining. There is no cortex visible. It is a well formed piece with shallow, invasive scars on both faces and a finely worked tip. There is (ancient) heavy wear on both faces and the flake ridges have been abraded to 1-2mm in width. The edges have been crushed in antiquity. There is no modern damage.

Tertiary chert waste flake. Mid grey-brown chert with white flecks. Matt patina. A small striking platform can be seen at the proximal end. and there are waves of percussion on the ventral surface. The dorsal surface has three main elongate, longitudinal flaking scars indicating that it is the result of bladelet production. There is some edge damage along both sides where the darker colour of the underlying chert can be seen (this indicates that the damage is more recent). Late Neolithic to early Bronze Age.

An elaborate cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The frame of the openwork buckle is D-shaped, three dimensional and concave on the underside. It measures 35.23mm by 24.38mm by 18.24mm and weighs 11.33g. The back consists of a fairly thin flat D-shaped band of copper alloy, the straight edge of which is narrowed. The pin is missing. A medieval finger-ring bezel in the shape of an angel holding a heart. It measures 12.57mm in height, 14.16mm in width and weighs 2.69g. On the reverse is a mark which indicates where the hoop was soldered. The bezel is silver-gilt and dates from the late fifteenth or early sixteenth centuries, and so qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 (J P Robinson, Curator of Medieval Collections, British Museum, 9th August 2005). A finger ring with a very similar bezel has been found in Kingston Deverill, Wiltshire (WILT-2C75F1).

A late Medieval finger-ring formed of a flat band with a heart-shaped bezel. The bezel is grooved and into the central groove is engraved a letter, probably a crowned R, though the engraving is very rudimentary. The band is decorated with a series of diapered lozenges alternating with flowers. The ring is silver-gilt and dates from the late fifteenth or early sixteenth centuries. An incomplete thirteenth or fourteenth century silver gilt finger ring. The bezel is square with rounded corners and measures 11.28mm by 11.45mm by 4.25mm. It is hollow with a square opening in the front, but the gem is missing. The surviving part (about half) of the hoop suggests a former diameter of 19.36mm, not including the bezel. The hoop is 3.62mm wide and 1.4mm thick. It is decorated on the exterior with alternating engraved lozenges and four-petalled flowers. The inside of the band is plain. The gilding is worn. Weight: 2.36g.

The identification above is based on the description in the numismatic data section. A cast copper alloy annular brooch with inscription, probably dating from the thirteenth or fourteenth century. The diameter on the brooch is 22.65mm, the ring is around 4.7mm wide and it is 2.7mm thick. It weighs 5.74g. The ring narrows to accommodate the pin, which is 22.18mm in length. A fragment from a enamelled cast copper alloy Crescentic terret of probable late Iron Age date. The fragment measures 36.8mm by 24.6mm by 12.1mm and weighs 18.44g. It consists of part of the hoop and a 10mm length of the cast-in-one copper alloy bar, which is narrowed with a circular cross-section (diameter 6.2mm).
