Copper alloy jetton of the Duchy of Guelders. Obverse shows a lion rampant on a shield. The Lion has the two forked tail of Limburg - Guelders. The reverse shows a long, double strand, arctuate cross flueretty with a nail punch at the centre and single-tailed lions in the angles. Some damage to the edges. Issued under Mathilde de Guelder c. 1371 - 1379.

The reverse shows a triple strand cross fleuretty. Late Medieval - c. 1415 - 1499 Diameter - 21.9 mm Weight - 1.65 g Similar to Mitchener, Jetons, Medalets & Tokens, the Medieval Period & Nuremberg B A Seaby Ltd London [pages: 227 & 231 ref: 687a & 709] but the are no annulets above the shield as seen on the former.
