A sheet copper alloy thimble of probable late medieval date. The thimble is 13.2mm high, it has a diameter of 15.6mm and it weighs 2.2g. It has a slightly pointed crown and the punched circular indentations are arranged in vertical lines. They do next extend onto the crown. There are two wear holes on the crown.

The foot of a cast copper alloy Colchester-Derivative bow brooch of early Roman date. The fragment measures 22.3mm by 6.5mm by 13.9mm (including the catchplate) and weighs 2g. The fragment comprises the lower part of the bow, which narrows gently into a forward-projecting flat semi-circular foot. There is a curving triangular catchplate behind the foot. The front of the brooch, which is slightly convex, is decorated with a longitudinal moulded zigzagged line, which is set within a plain recess.

A cast copper-alloy drop handle lug which probably formed part of a chafing dish of late medieval or post-medieval date. Similar handle lugs were also used for small chests and casks. The lug measures 23.3mm by 16.1mm by 9.3mm, and weighs 16.1g. It is in the form of a flat oval cylinder, which has a central circular perforation (diameter 6.7mm) and a flared end from which projects the remains of an integral rivet. An incomplete sheet copper alloy folded rivet, probably a repair for a copper alloy vessel of medieval to post-medieval date. The rivet is made from a lozenge-shaped piece of sheet which has been folded twice at each end. The rivet has been pierced off-centre. A similar rivet is illustrated in Egan's 'Medieval Household' (1998, p. 176, no. 489). Dimensions: 50.5mm by 14.6mm by 3.1mm. Weight: 4.4g.

A cast copper alloy rotary casket key of probable medieval date. The key measures 36.2mm by 12.8mm by 4.4mm and weighs 6.7g. The external diameter of the circular bow is 13.4mm and its central perforation, 6.3mm. The key has a hollow stem with oval cross section and an unelaborate bit with a cleft on each side. A number of similar keys are illustrated in Brian Read's 'Metal Artefacts of Antiquity' (2001, pp. 67, 72, nos. 544-547). These examples have all been dated from the late twelfth to early fourteenth centuries.

On the front there is a stamped crown, with XXs (for 10 shillings) underneath and a counterstamp to the right of the crown. On the back is a left-facing bust of Charles I.

An incomplete cast silver strap-end of early-medieval date. The Thomas Class B, Type 1 (transverse grooved) strap-end measures 28.2mm by 7.5mm by 2.9mm and weighs 1.9g. Its width to length ratio is 1:2.6. It has a proximal split end with a trifid terminal and a central perforation. The interior side of the split end has broken off. A further perforation, which is filled with iron corrosion, is located close to the other end of the split. An incomplete enamelled cast copper alloy stud of Roman date. The surviving portion measures 18.1mm by 17.5mm by 1.8mm and weighs 1.7g. The stud is broadly pelta-shaped, with a tapering backwards-curving flange top and bottom, for attachment. There are three recesses on the front of the pelta-shaped section, all of which contain traces of enamel. The central cell is broadly hourglass-shaped and contains red enamel.
