A copper alloy Pot Leg of Medieval to Post-Medieval date (AD 1200-1700), possibly from an early posnet. The object has a sub-rectangular cross section. The lower end of the object is rhas a raised ridge in the centre of the foot, with some corrosion visible. A fragment of a copper alloy cooking vessel dating to the Medieval to Post-Medieval periods (c. AD 1200-1700). The fragment appears to be a rim sherd probably from an unknown vessel. The sherd has an incised line creating a border towards the edge of the rim. The sherd then curves outward to a concave profile.  The fragment is dark green in colour. It is heavily scratched and pitted, both on the interior and exterior surfaces, which are nevertheless fairly smooth. The lower end of the object is rounded/ the upper end is tapered slightly to a flattened area where the leg would affix to the vessel body. The foot has no visible decoration, and is well worn. The sherd has a raised groove at the top of the rim measuring 1.42mm, a parallel incised line 5.71mm from the top of the sherd, and two parallel incised lines towards the bottom of the sherd, 1.79mm and 3.85mm from the base. Two fragments of rim sherd of West Somerset type pottery, dating to the 16th - 17th century. Possibly from a bowl, the fabric has sandstone inlusions, a thumbed applied strip under the rim, and an internal glaze, with an external green glaze just about visible. A nearby production site for Medieval and Post Medieval West Somerset ware exisited at Nether Stowey, and was operational between 1250 - 1700. The object has an arrow shaped cross section with a concave back and the tip of the foot forming the point of the arrow. The front of the leg is formed of two sloping rectangular faces. There is possible evidence of decoration, with a trace line running across the two front faces of the leg around 20mm from the base.
