A worn and clipped Post-mediaeval silver penny of either Henry VII (AD1485-1509) or Henry VIII (AD1509-1547). Henry VIII seems more probable as the remains of the initial mark suggest a circular shape - an annulet and pellet or a very worn rose or anchor. The King enthroned design suggests no later than Second Coinage. Dates of 1509 to 1544 therefore seem most likely. North (1991: 112) no. 1808 seems the closest fit.
Obverse description: King enthroned holding orb and sceptre; two single pillars topped with trefoils.
Obverse inscription: illegible / clipped.…

Medieval silver penny of John (1199-1216) dating to the period AD 1205-1207. Short cross, class 5b, probably 5b3. Minted in London. North (1994: 221) no. 970. Mass (2001: 37-40).
The coin is slightly folded and and pierced through the legend, about half way between the edge and centre, at 2 o'clock on the obverse, 7 o'clock on reverse. The unusual position suggests this may be accidental.
