Large and heavy Roman gold finger ring of ‘keeled’ type with a wide openwork hoop and large ovoid bezel set with a dark blue/light grey oval nicolo intaglio. The lower part of the hoop is composed of a pair of six-sided polygons, each with a central rib and openwork panels on each side that slope downwards from the rib. The object has been engraved on one side with what appears to be a possible gaming board, with irregular squares roughly 1cm square.
