Piece of lead alloy with two flat sides joined by a thin cross bar giving an H-shaped section with a small piece of 17th-19th century window glass stuck between the sides. Possibly a crude repair for a cracked window along similar lines to the contemporary lead alloy pot mends or possibly a spash of lead onto broken glass.. It is 21.7mm by 25.7mm including the glass, 6.1mm thick and weighs 6.80 grams.

An incomplete silver post medieval whistle dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1650. The tubular whistle is made of silver sheet and soldered lengthways along an abutting seam. One end of a rectangular and rectangular secetioned whet stone with a drilled circular hole through the remaining complete end. Fine grained non-micaceous rock formed and broken along distinct layers with flat sides, slightly rounded corners and edges and a slightly concave face, probably from use. The fragment is 49.0mm long, 33.7mm wide and 9.8mm thick it weighs 32 grams. While not diagnositic on its own it was found in a group of Roman material and is likely to be of that date although there is some late 18th century material also on the field.

Cast lead wieght; square with a flat base and a cast design of a grid with a central pellet on the slightly concave top surface. It is 19.8mm by 19.6mm by 9.4mm and wieghs 29.08 grams, 1.033 ounces. As the weight so nearly approximates to an ounce it probably dates to after the widespread adoption of the averdepois system in the 14th century. Similar square weights with simple cast designs on the top face are illustrated in Biggs and Withers (2000:27-9) although none with the same design as this example, they are also though to be mostly Medieval - Post medieval in date.

Medieval cast lead alloy weight. The weight is circular with a flat base and a raised moulded design on the top. The design is of a cross with pellets in each quarter. One quarter appears incomplete from damage or mis-casting at the edge. It measures 30.5mm in diametre and 6.4 mm in thickness; it weighs 22.95g. Very similar, although heavier weights are recorded by Biggs and Withers (2000: 24, no.35 and 38) who suggest a Medieval date. A circular cast lead alloy weight of uncertain date with a trapezoidal cross section. A 'D' is stamped on one face and there is an incised line on the other. It is 23.8mm in diametre, 6.6mm in thicknes and weighs 27.82g. 0.98 ounces. Plain weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards for a wide variety of uses and are hard to date precisely. This example is about an ounce in the avoirdupois system in use since the Medieval period suggesting a late Medieval - Post Medieval date.

Both weights have an incised cross with smaller diagonal lines projecting the same direction from each arm on one face, possibly representing windmill sails and an incised 'V' on the other. 1) 30.6mm in diameter, 3.9mm in thickness and 18.27g, 2) 28.6mm in diameter, 2.9mm in thickness and 13.44g.
