A cast copper alloy buckle of probable late medieval or early post-medieval date. The asymmetrical double loop buckle measures 56.1mm by 19.4mm by 4mm and weighs 7.2g. The strap bar is narrowed and off-set and at each end of it the frame has a small external knop. One side of the rounded frame is larger than the other and there is a large projection from the centre of the outside edge on both side of the frame. A cast copper alloy buckle of probable thirteenth to fourteeth century date. The simple frame oval buckle measures 14.8mm by 22.6mm by 3.4mm and weighs 2.3g. It has an offset and narrowed strap bar and a thicker outside edge. The tapering pin is wrapped around the strap bar and is decorated with two tranverse grooved lines adjacent to the loop. Similar buckles can be seen in Egan and Pritchard's 'Dress Accessories: Medieval Finds from Excavations in London' (1991, pp. 68-70, nos. 271, 274 and 277).

An enamelled cast copper alloy buckle of mid to late seventeenth century date. The rectangular double loop buckle measures 39.6mm by 26.4mm by 3.3mm and weighs 9.8g. The outside edges are trefoil-shaped and there are external knops at each end of the narrowed strap bar. The pin is missing. The front of the buckle is decorated with moulded scrollwork and in between the raised scrolls the recesses are filled with black and white enamel.

A cast copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The rectangular double loop buckle measures 38.3mm by 22.2mm by 1.7mm and weighs 3.8g. The frame has pointed outside edges and an external semi-circular knop at each end of the narrowed central bar. The pin is missing and there is a slight linear groove in the centres of both side knops. The back is flat and undecorated. There are traces of silvering or tinning in some areas. A similar buckle from Newton Abbot in Devon can be seen in Read's 'History Beneath our Feet' (1995, p. 144, no. 929). This example has been dated to c. 1600-50.

A small cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The D-shaped simple frame measures 21.9mm by 25.8mm by 2.8mm and weighs 4g. The outer edge is the widest part of the buckle; the strap bar is narrowed. The frame has a flat back and a slightly convex front. It is undecorated with the exception of an incised pin rest in the centre of the outside edge. This buckle probably dates from the fourteenth or fifteenth century.

An incomplete cast and sheet copper alloy buckle of probable early post-medieval date. The circular buckle has a sheet plate which is rectangular with rounded corners. It measures 37.8mm by 20.1mm by 2.4mm and weighs 7.3g. The buckle's outside edge has a projecting central knop. This is oval with a pointed end and is decorated with several incised lines. A corresponding knop on the other side of the frame has broken off. The buckle's central bar is slightly narrowed and iron corrosion in this area suggests that the pin was made from iron. A cast copper alloy buckle of probable seventeenth century date. The trapezoidal frame measures 46.4mm by 26.4mm by 2.8mm and weighs 8.8g. It has pointed ends and lobed knops at the angles of the frame at at each end of the strap bar. The pin is wrapped around the bar and tapers to a blunt point. The buckle has been tinned or silvered. A similar buckle features in Whitehead's 'Buckles 1250-1800' (2003, p. 83, no. 516).

A cast copper alloy annular buckle of medieval date. The buckle measures 34.6mm in diameter and the circular cross-section has a diameter of 14.3mm. It weighs 7g. The circular frame is undecorated and there is no constriction for the pin, which has been separately cast. One end of the pin has been bent to form a loop which is wrapped around the frame and the other end tapers slightly towards the rounded end.

An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of probable seventeenth or early eighteenth century date. The curvilinear double loop buckle measures 44.6mm by 29mm by 2.4mm and weighs 6.1g. At each end of the narrowed strap bar there are external trefoils and there is a moulded rosette or flower on each side of the frame. Corrosion in the centre of the strap bar suggests the pin was made of iron. A similar buckle can be seen in Whitehead's 'Buckles 1250-1800' (2003, p. 71, no. 444). This example has been dated between c. 1600 and 1720.

The rectangular frame has pointed outside edges and a small knop at each end of the narrowed central bar. The pin is wrapped around the bar and tapers towards the point where it has broken. The buckle is undecorated. Two similar buckles feature in Whitehead's 'Buckles 1250-1800' (2003, p. 55, nos. 314 and 315).

An cast copper alloy buckle of probable late sixteenth or seventeenth century date. The incomplete asymmetrical double loop buckle measures 52mm by 76.2mm by 2.6mm and weighs 13.3g. The incomplete loop would have been rectangular and the surviving loop has rounded ends and a pointed central outer edge. At each end of the central bar there is a worn knop. The pin is missing. A similar but more complete example can be seen in Whitehead's 'Buckles 1250-1800'. This example has been dated to c. 1575-1700 (1996, p. 90, no. 559).
