Six sherds of samian ware pottery of early Roman date. Three are body sherds and three are rim sherds. Two of the rim sherds have external beads and one is plain. All the sherds are oxidised throughout with shiny brownish-orange slips. The fabric contains moderate very small limestone pieces and occasional voids, so the vessels were probably produced at one of the South Gaulish kilns. Total weight: 44g

Nine sherds of South-East Dorset Black-Burnished Ware I pottery of Roman date. Five are rim sherds, three are body sherds and one is a base sherd. The largest rim sherd is from a flanged bowl, three others are plain and everted and probably come from jars and the other is flat and appears to have come from a lid with a groove parallel to the rim. The cylindrical wings contain the axis bar for the missing hinged pin. They are decorated with two parallel circumferential incised lines at each end, although one edge is slightly damaged. An incomplete cast copper alloy plate brooch of Roman date. The oval brooch measures 30mm by 25.2mm by 2.4mm and weighs 7.2g. The front of the brooch is divided into two recessed sections: a central oval and an outer border. There are traces of red enamel in the border. The central recess is empty. The back is flat and undecorated. At one end is the hinge, which contains iron corrosion, presumably all that survives of the pin, and at the other end is the stub of the catchplate.
