A pierced post-medieval copper-alloy Nuremberg jetton of the Schultes workshop, Hans Schultes I or II, dating from 1553 to 1603. ​'French shield' type inscribed LIB MICH ALS [ICH] DIH. Minted at Nuremberg. No direct equivalent is found in Mitchiner (1988) but the obverse correponds to his nos. 1380 (Schultes I) and 1399 (Schultes II); the reverse is in the style of no. 1398 (Schultes II) but with a different legend. ​​Diameter 28. 3mm, thickness 0.9 mm, weight 2.69 g. A post-medieval Nuremberg copper-alloy jetton of Hans Schultes II or III (dating to 1586-1612). Rose / orb type, obverse legend: HANS SCHVLTES . ZV . NVRE, reverse legend GLICK IST WALCZET VND (Fortune is changeable). The jetton is pierced in the centre and at 4 o'clock on the orb side, both piercings form the orb side.. Reference: Munich Coll. A post-medieval Nuremberg copper-alloy jetton of Hans Schultes II ( AD 1586-1603) dating to the period AD 1586 to 1603, of the 'Lion of St Mark' type. Mitchiner (1988:406) no. 1385 is similar with pellets rather than annulets around the tressure on the reverse, annulets are seen on no. 1386 combined with a different obverse die. The piece is unusual thick but Mitchiner (ibid:406) suggests many others of this type are. The jetton has been deliberately pierced with a small circular hole near the rim at 7 o'clock on the obverse correlating to 11 o'clock on the reverse.
