Medieval silver penny of Richard III dating to 1483 to 1485. Minted at York under Archbishop Thomas Rotherham. North (1991: 98) no.1686. There is a break to one side which appears to be a broken piercing made from the obverse at 8 o'clock, 12 o'clock on the reverse. Evidence of double striking is visible on the obverse.
