The coin has broken into 6 pieces, the largest is about three fifths of the flan and the rest are smaller, one (equivilent to c.5% of the flan) is missing. It is currently held together by tape and the weight includes this.

Medieval silver penny of Henry II dating to AD 1161 to 1165. Cross and crosslet (Tealby) type, Bust C1 var. Minted by unclear moneyer, probably WID, at London, North (1994:217) 956. This moneyer is not listed as minting this type in North and there are no examples on EMC. It is possible it is a C1 / A mule but details such as the diameter of the crosslets and the widths of the N all suggest the later class although the hight of the letters would not be out of place in Class A. Traces of an inner circle suggest C3 but the letters still have large serifs and the crosses ont he verse …
