An incomplete Post-Medieval lead cloth seal, probably dating to c. AD 1500 to 1700. The surviving part consists of two complete discs with an integral rivet attached to the first and piercing and then being squashed over the second. A short connecting strip projects from both discs and is folded. The main disc is flat and would have been circular in form although it is now irregular around its edges which have been bent and broken. The outside surface of this disc is flat and plain. Its reverse has the remains of an integral rivet which has been stamped flat. The squashed diamet…

A Medieval to Post Medieval cast, lead alloy small/medium sized, uniface token (probably). The token is circular in plan, sub-rectangular in cross section and uniface. However, there is are two straight scars on the reverse that are almost perpendicular to each other. They meet in the centre of the face and fade out. The decorated face consists of a raised central cell which takes up the majority of the face, with sub-rectangular ridges radiating away, towards the edge of the token. It is possible that these radiations are inscriptions rather than lines, but the abrasion makes a…

A Medieval to Post Medieval cast, lead alloy small/medium sized, uniface token. The token is sub-circular in plan, sub-rectangular in cross section and uniface. The decorated face consists of a slightly raised central cell, with sub-rectangular ridges radiating away, towards the edge of the token. At the edge of the token is a raised border, where the sub-rectangular ridges meet it. There is some evidence of a second inner circular border running halfway between the central cell and the edge, however this has been abraded in most areas. These characteristics categorise it as a P…

A Medieval to Post Medieval cast, lead alloy small/medium sized, uniface token. The token is sub-circular in plan, sub-rectangular in cross section and biface. The decorated face consists of a slightly raised central cell, with 6 radiating ridges projecting towards the outside of the token, dividing the face into segments. Because of this, the token is likely a Powell type 3. The reverse is flat, but it has small semicircles radiating from around the edge, like frills. The majority of the token is light grey, and has some patches of creamy white. The token is 13.2mm in diamet…

A Medieval to Post Medieval cast, lead alloy small/medium sized, uniface token. The token is sub-circular in plan, and would have been sub-rectangular in cross section and uniface. However, it has beent slightly such that it is now almost L-shaped in profile. The decorated face is very abraded and bent making it difficult to be certain of a Powell type. The visible decoration consists of simple raised lines which do not appear to follow any clear radiating pattern and interlace too much to represent letters as such it may be a a Powell type 9 although such an interpretation can…
