A cast copper alloy rose buckle of late Medieval to early Post-Medieval date c.1450-1550. The buckle is sub-circular in shape (more accurately rose-shaped), in plan and sub-rectangular in cross section. The buckle has two D-shaped loops divided by a central axis bar that is D-shaped in cross section with a convex front a flat reverse. The outside of the buckle frame is shaped such that it has five petals each which has rounded corners and central region that is slightly concave. Sub-circular lead alloy 'pan' weight of probably Medieval to early post-medieval date, c. 1390-1700 The weight has a slightly concave back and flat sides with a slightly irregular, in width and thickness, raised rim around the front. The front is stamped with three very large fleur de lis, almost filling the field. The weight is 53.3mm by 49.9mm and 7.9mm thick. It weighs 108g, 3.8 ounces. The weight was probably originally 4 ounces, a quarter of a pound in the Avoirdupois system, adoped after c. AD 1390 (Biggs 1992, 44). The marks are likely to be local verification marks. Such m…

An incomplete copper alloy mount or clasp of medieval to post medieval date (c. AD 1350 - 1650). The mount commences in an old break and has slightly concave long edges. The rectangular plate exhibits two rivet holes, arranged on the long axis, which retain the corroded remains of the iron rivets. Just below the second rivet is an incised horizontal groove. The plate tapers from a width of 9.55mm to 7.65mm before expanding to 8.42mm at which point it tapers into a projecting hook which terminates in an old break. An incomplete copper alloy medieval or post medieval purse bar dating to the period c. AD1450 - 1550. It comprises a central squared shield-shaped block with a rectangular arm projecting from either side. Both arms terminate in an old break. The central block has rounded lower edges and has a circular perforation drilled through top to bottom which would have housed the swivel and suspension loop (now missing).
