One end of a gilded silver strap fitting with gold, garnet and blue glass inlays, dating to the first half of the seventh century AD. The piece consists of one end with attachment rivets, and the stub of one side of a broken probably rectangular plate with narrow sides around a probably rectangular hole in the centre. Complete Early-Medieval gilded copper alloy 'axe-shaped' mount, probably from horse harness. The mount is trapezoidal in shape; the longest side curves outwards slightly, whilst the other three sides curve inwards. The reverse of the mount is flat and covered with iron corrosion. The outer face of the mount has engraved decoration, the lines of which are gilded. Helen Geake (pers. comm.), the Scheme's Medieval and Post-Medieval Finds Advisor, comments that the decoration appears to be Style I rather than the Style II common on this type of mount. Early Anglo-Saxon glass bead, opaque black with translucent white trails in a crossed wave pattern creating three pointed oval cells arround the side each containing a red dot in the centre, 21.2mm in diameter, the width varies from 6.3 to 7.2mm and the thickness from 9.0-11.2mm, it weighs 6.02 grams. Brugmann (2004) "Candy" type with translscent glass on opaque, form A1-A2, dating to 450-550 AD.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy bridle cheek-piece of 11th-century date. The fragment measures 52mm by 27.8mm by 5.6mm and weighs 36.9g. It is very worn but there is are two old breaks at one end; between these is part of the original central circular hole for the bit. There is a decorative circular opening. One face is decorated with the head of a Ringerike-style beast in profile, facing right, with a flowing mane. A cast copper alloy bit/rein link from a bridle, early medieval in date. It has a circular loop with steep angled sides integrally attached to a rectangular bar which widens to a circular boss at which point there is an old break and the opposing loop is now missing. The cross-section is D-shaped with a very flat base. It is 31.3mm long, the loop is 17.2mm in diameter and the bar is 6.2mm thick and the rounded boss is 9.2mm in diameter. Copper alloy pin, probably of Middle-Later Early Medieval date, c.8th-9th centuries. The flat head and part of the shaft survives, the rest is lost to a patinated break. The head is flattened and the shape could be described as sub-oval, piriform or sub-triangular with an almost semi-circular top with a slightly straightened top edge and tapering sides which meet at a point where the head joins the shaft.
